ASIAN Cricket Club (ACC) emerged as champions of the 28th Construction Development Company (CDC) First Division Cricket Tournament.
In the final, ACC, who last won the trophy 12 years ago, defeated Hanan XII by six wickets.
Put in to bat, Hanan made a confident start amassing 77 runs in six overs, losing just two wickets. But they could not sustain the momentum and were bundled out for 165 in 19.4 overs.
In reply, ACC began well by making 44 for the loss of one wicket in six overs and they built on it to surpass the rivals’ total in 17.2 overs. Sarfaraz and Tabish made 35 and 22 respectively.
CDC Business Development Manager Sanjiv Jain, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function, awarded the winners. More than 300 special prizes were given away to players.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s defeated Qatar Vinyl Company by 12 runs to win the Second Division title.
