DOHA: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Referees Committee has appointed Australian referee Christopher James to officiate the AFC Champions League Round of 16 second leg match between Al Sadd and Al Duhail here on Tuesday.
Qatar Stars League champions Sadd enjoy an away goal advantage following the 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.
Meanwhile, Duhail’s Moroccan’s defender Mehdi Benatia underwent a successful surgery in his knee cartilage in Paris.
Mehdi, who was injured last week, travelled to France on Wednesday.
Benatia is expected to spend four weeks on the sidelines and will miss the second leg, Sheikh Jassim Cup and the first few rounds of QNB Stars League.
