Oujda, Morocco: Qatar’s Al Arabi will take on Tunisia’s Sakiet Ezzit in the final of the 33rd Arab Handball Championship here on Saturday.
Arabi beat Saudi Arabia’s Al Safa 29-27 in the semifinal, and the final starts at 8pm local time.
Meanwhile, Al Khor will face Safa in the play-off for the third place.
“I hope the team will play with the same vigour as they did in the semifinal, and help us to win the title,” said club’s handball head Meshaal Al Sulaiti.
Arabi had a light training on Friday, and coach Omar Azab exuded confidence.
“It’s going to be a tough match, but we’ll give our best. All the boys are charged up. We want to return home with the trophy,” said Omar.
Al Rayyan is the only Qatari club, which had won the title in 2000 in Sharjah, UAE.
