Doha, Qatar: Hosts Qatar’s Al Dana Al Mubarak teamed with Osama Nasser Al Shaiba to win gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the 14th Arab Shooting Championships at the Losail Ranges on Wednesday.
It was Al Dana's fourth gold and it helped her join team-mate Aisha Al Suwaidi as the most prolific shooters of the competition.
Al Dana contributed 371 with six Xs, while Osama Nasser added 372 (7 Xs) to raise 743, and finish ahead of Oman’s Wadha Al Balushi and Ismail Al Abri just by a point.
Sohir Al Jahmani and Jamal Al Hattali, also of Oman, took the bronze with a total of 739.
Obaid Al Osaimi, Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab shooting, and Ali Mohamed Al Kuwari, QSAA President and chairman of the organising committee, crowned the winners.
Qatar lead the tally with 13 gold, four silver and six bronze medals.
Oman have 24 medals, including five gold and 13 silver while Kuwait are third with four gold and five silver.
