Doha: A brace from Moroccan striker Rachid Tiberkanine and goals from Saud Nasser, Mohammed Abdulraab, Abdelhadi Ameen and Abdulaziz Al Ansari helped Al Kharaitiyat thrash Qatar SC 6-1 and storm into the QSL Cup semifinal on Monday.
Kharaitiyat were 4-0 ahead at halftime and even though Qatar SC returned one back in the 71st minute through Abdulrahman Issa, the winners scored two more in the final moments of the match to complete the demolition.
Kharaitiyat will play Al Rayyan, who have already ensured top spot in Group B, in the semifinal.
Meanwhile, Al Gharafa blanked Al Sailiya 4-0 to book their berth in the last four as Group A leaders. Abdulmajid Al Diri put Gharafa ahead with an early goal while Amro Abdelfatah came up with a brace before Nasser Said Ajlan Al Kaabi entered the score sheet with a late strike.
Gharafa finished with 13 points from five matches while Kharaitiyat have 11.
Elsewhere, Youssef El Arabi scored six goals as Al Duhail SC thrashed Al Khor in an inconsequential match in the group.
Duhail, already out of the reckoning for a semifinal spot after opting to field their Under-23 side in their earlier matches, showed up with a much stronger team and blew away an under-strength Khor. Mohammed Musa and Ahmad Mohammad Yasser were the other scorers for Duhail.
