Doha, Qatar: Al Rayyan entered the Amir Cup volleyball final on Sunday after a thrilling victory against arch-rivals Al Arabi in the second of their best-of-three semifinals.
Rayyan had eased past Arabi in the first match last week but the Lions had to face a tough challenge from Arabi, who took the first set.
But Rayyan came back strongly to win the next two and even though they were second best in the fourth, they regained their composure in the nick of time to win 22-25, 25-9, 25-22, 22-25, 15-12.
Rayyan will take on Police in the final on May 17.
Police had beaten Ahli 3-1 (25-14, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18) in their second match on Saturday to cruise into the final.
