AL SADD signed a two-year contract with Jugurtha Hamroun after the Algerian forward completed a successful season with the Qatar Stars League (QSL) club while playing on loan.
The 28-year-old, who joined from Romanian club Steaua Bucharest last summer, had an impressive league campaign, where Sadd finished as runners-up, and scored the winning goals in both Qatar Cup and Emir’s Cup finals.
The Algeria international expressed delight at staying with Sadd.
“I’m very happy and proud to stay with the Al Sadd family, whom I’ve played and won titles with this season,” Hamroun told the club’s website.
He thanked the club management for its trust in him.
“It’s my pleasure to have won the trust of the club management, players and fans. I promise to strive for more success with the team. I’ll give my all in the upcoming season. I hope to achieve all that everyone expects of me in the next two years,” he added.
Sadd, who qualified for next year’s AFC Champions League with Emir’s Cup triumph, last week extended the contract of leading scorer Baghdad Bounedjah until 2021.
They had also signed naturalised Algerian Boualem Khoukhi from rival QSL side Al Arabi. DSP
