Aspire Zone Foundation attracts 10 world-class football teams for training camps in 2019

Doha, Qatar: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) is gearing up to host comprehensive football training camps for a number of world-class teams this January. Time and again, star sides such as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain return to AZF during the winter months to benefit from Qatar’s perfect outdoor training weather at this time of the year and prepare for the second half of the season in ideal settings.

This year, AZF will host 10 international football teams, all of whom are eager to benefit from its world-class training, accommodation and entertainment facilities.

Bayern Munich are scheduled to visit from 4  to 10 January, Holland’s PSV Eindhoven from 4 to 12 January, Belgium’s Club Brugge from 5 to 12 January and Kas Eupen from 8 to 13 January, Iranian side Persepolis from 9 to 19 January, and Paris Saint-Germain from 13  to 17 January.

Spartak Moscow will be in Doha from the 18 – 30 January, FC Rostov and FC Lokomotiv Moscow from 20-30 January, and FC Zenit Saint Petersburg from 15 to 29 January.

Commenting on the camps, Ibrahim Hilal, Head of Federation and Teams Affairs at AZF, said: “AZF’s unique trio of Aspire Academy, Aspetar and Aspire Logistics offer world-class outdoor and indoor facilities combined with sports science and sports medicine expertise. This convenient structure ensures everything is readily available for visiting athletes, who return to Aspire Zone Foundation’s training camps year after year.”

Reasons why elite teams conduct training camps at Aspire Zone Foundation

AZF is globally recognised for its ideal training environment for elite athletes, giving them access to training fields of the highest quality, multi-purpose halls for a variety of sports, and swimming pools, gyms, and indoor and outdoor tracks equipped with the latest technologies.

In addition, teams are also encouraged to return because of the success in domestic and international tournaments that follows their Aspire Zone training camps.

Aspire Zone offers excellent sporting facilities

Of particular importance to football clubs are Aspire Zone’s training pitches. Elite international teams look for excellence in the smallest things and Aspire Zone Foundation’s commitment to maintaining the highest international standards makes its offer truly world-class. Teams return to AZF’s because the quality and convenience of the venues are at least equal - and often better than - even the biggest teams’ home training facilities. From pitch quality to training equipment, hospitality services to medical centres, AZF’s facilities rival those of the greatest sports teams around the world.

Diversified training venues

In addition to its outdoor facilities, Aspire Dome is the world’s largest indoor multi-purpose dome, offering the highest quality facilities for multiple sports and international events. The total seating capacity of Aspire Dome is 15,500 across 13 separate multi-sport halls. It is situated right next to Aspire Academy.

Ideal Atmosphere

Qatar thrives during winter with a moderate temperature that rarely exceeds 25 degrees Celsius. For European teams eager to stay sharp over their winter football breaks, this provides an ideal alternative to domestic training camps.

Fan experience

Previous training camps at Aspire have witnessed a tremendous turn-out of sports enthusiasts eager to see major global sports stars up close.

International Forum

Aspire training camps attract athletes from the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, Europe and beyond, helping to demonstrate sport’s ability to bridge cultures. This year, AZF has high hopes for further success in using sport to bring people together.
