Doha, Qatar: Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) Ramadan Sports Festival started on Wednesday with competitions in men’s football and volleyball as well as ladies’ handball.
During the very first night of the events at the Ladies Sports Hall, the ladies’ handball competition saw Al Adaam score 23 points against 2 for the Hands Up team. Al Majed defeated Al Dana with a score of 44-14.
On football pitch number 10, the match between Baladna and Carthage Eagles ended 1-1. Janin Camp won against Al-Nashama with a score of 14 – 7 while Delta and Football heroes played out a 2-2 draw.
In men’s volleyball, Al Sityar won 2-0 against Indian heroes, Medina Doha beat Strikers 2-0, Champions beat Kesci SC 2-0. Bench Pearls beat Volley Beast 2-0.
The men’s volleyball and ladies handball competitions will continue until the May 12 while men’s football competitions are scheduled to end on the 13th of May.
The fitness challenge for boys and hockey for boys and girls will kick off on Thursday. AZF has also organised table tennis activities for the disabled in various categories for a one-day event at the 12th of May.
