FORWARD Olatunbo Ayeni amassed 60 points to guide Al Wakrah to an emphatic 114-85 win over Al Khor in the Qatar League at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall last week.
Ayeni was supported by point guard Larry Blair II, who had 22 points and 17 assists.
Wakrah did not show any signs of their intention to reach for three figures in the first two quarters (28-16, 20-23) as Khor proved a hard nut to crack.
However, Ihab Jalal’s men came back with renewed confidence after the breather and played an attacking game to collect 33 points each in the last two quarters for their fifth win.
Point guard Dairese Gary scored 40 points, including 14 rebounds and 10 assists, for Khor, who suffered their 13th defeat in 15 matches. Mustafa Lasheen (13), Khalid Abdrabbo (11) and Abdulaziz Adam (10) were the other scorers.
In another match, holders Al Rayyan notched up a huge 108-64 win against seven-time champions Qatar Sports Club, with point guard Jamal Abdulrahman Shabazz II netting 31 points.
Rayyan are two points behind league leaders El Jaish, who are unbeaten so far.
Marcus Bell scored 22 points andMohamed Hassan Mohamed 14 for Rayyan.
For Qatar SC, Bader Ba Sulaiman top-scored with 23 points while Quinton Doggett had 20 points including 12 rebounds.
