Doha, Qatar: Asad Bora’s brilliant all-round performance enabled Warriors Club to keep up their victory march in the Qatar Airways A Division Cricket Tournament with an emphatic 146-run crushing of Al Feroz Youngsters.
Bora hammered two sixes and 10 boundaries in his 60-ball cameo of 92 runs, which lifted Warriors Club to a massive 388 in 50 overs.
Imal and Andrew also were in terrific form.
Imal took just 66 balls to make 87, including a six and four fours, while Andrew also clobbered a six and 10 fours to post 88. Spinner Nadeem got two wickets for 57.
Bora excelled with the ball as well and his four for 35 in eight overs sent Al Feroz Youngsters crashing to 242 all out in 42 overs. Tanveer was the only batsman to offer any resistance with a 57-ball 72, in which he blasted five sixes and as many fours.
In another match, Awais Malik’s superb all-round display (90 off 84 balls and three for 34) overshadowed Jassim’s blazing 141 as Galfar Al Misnad quelled Fireox Unit’s challenge by 30 runs. Malik belted a six and 11 fours in his 90 as Galfar made 304.
Jassim hit back strongly for Fireox Unit with 13 sixes and four boundaries but could not get adequate support as their innings folded for 270 in 47.5 overs.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rahman steered Kingspan Qatar to a three-wicket victory against Royal Stars. He struck 10 boundaries to collect 90 and Raheel knocked 66 off 59 balls with seven fours as their team secured the 234-run target in 46 overs. Half-centuries by Asif (74 with 12 fours and a six) and Shahid (56 with three sixes and seven fours) earlier took Royal Stars to 233 in 42.2 overs.
