Doha: The Qatar Swimming Association (QSA) President Khaleel Al Jaber exuded confidence that Qatar will produce yet another successful competition when it hosts the FINA Airweave World Cup series at the Hamad Aquatic Centre next month.
The Doha leg is the fifth stopover after Moscow, Russia, (August 2-3), Berlin, Germany (August 6-7), Eindhoven, the Netherlands (August 11-12) and Hong Kong (September 30 to October 1).
“The QSA strives to ensure that each edition improves upon the one before it and this year our approach is no different. It’s not the first time we’re hosting the event, but we want to have a successful competition. Qatar is once again more than ready to host the world’s greatest swimmers,” said Al Jaber, who is also the Local Organising Committee Chairman.
The Qatari, who was elected as one of the FINA Bureau Member last month, held a meeting with the various committees on Sunday.
Other members of the committee include Tournament Operations Manager Mohamed Al Sheeb, Deputy Director of Operations Jihan Haj Idris, Director of Service Committee Khalid Abdullah and Abdulaziz Al Janahi Director of the Support Committee.
Beijing, China, (November 10-11), Tokyo, Japan (November 14-15) and Singapore (November 18-19) will host the remaining legs of the event.
“We’ll continue to build on the massive momentum that we’ve accrued over the years,” added Al Jaber.
