Lausanne, Switzerland: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani participated in the meetings of the General Assembly of the 134th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), held in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Monday.
The meetings discussed a number of topics on the agenda related to the development of sports and Olympics at the global level. The participants also voted on the city that will host the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will be hosted by the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina.
HH the Amir also met with IOC President Thomas Bach, on the sidelines of the meetings.
At the outset of the meeting, HH the Amir congratulated Bach on the occasion of the inauguration of the new headquarter of the International Olympic Committee "The Olympic House", which coincides with the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Committee.
They also reviewed areas of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the IOC and ways of promoting them.
Qatar Olympic Committee President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani also attended the meeting.
