Doha: The last league game of the QNB stars League season turned sour for another top goalscorer as Rayyan’s Abderrazaq Hamdallah was ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The Moroccan striker suffered the injury in the 10th minute of Rayyan’s 4-1 win over Al Ahli on Sunday.
Duhail captain Youssef Msakni, the second best goal scorer and arguably the best player of the league, had suffered a knee injury on Sunday to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
The absence of Hamdallah, the third-best scorer in the league with 18 goals, will be a big blow for Rayyan in the AFC Champions League, Qatar Cup and Emir Cup.
Rayyan take on Saudi Arabia’s Al Ain in their last group game on April 16, which they need to win to book their berth in the knockout round.
