Kamara’s goal spoils Kaka’s final Lions home match

Tokyo: The Columbus Crew SC shutout Orlando City SC 1-0 on Sunday to spoil former Brazilian World Cup champion Kaka's final home match at Orlando City Stadium.

The 35-year-old midfielder announced last week he would not return to the club in 2018.

Kaka has been with Orlando City since the team's first MLS season in 2015 and scored the team's first ever goal.

Orlando wraps up the season next Sunday at Philadelphia, but Kaka is not expected to play.

Kaka brought the crowd to its feet in the 38th minute with a free-kick from the left side outside the box that barely cleared the crossbar.

That opportunity came after he deflected a cross wide of the goal in the 23rd minute.

Kaka also sent a free kick from the edge of the penalty area over the goal in the 89th minute for Orlando's last best chance.

Ola Kamara second-half goal was all the scoring Columbus needed to beat Orlando City.

The Crew improved to 16-12-5 on the season and are unbeaten in nine games, its longest stretch without a loss since 2009.

Orlando City did not have a shot on goal, allowing Crew rookie goalkeeper Zack Steffen to post his ninth shutout and second straight.
