DOHA: Aspire Academy beat Turkish club Altinordu FK 1-0 to seal a semifinal berth in the U17 Al Kass International Cup here on Sunday.
Khaled bin Sabaa capitalized on a pass from Abdulrahman to shot home from close in the ninth minute. Altinordu goalkeeper Emirhan Emir got a hand to it, but could not prevent the goal.
The hosts will meet the winners of AS Roma and Spartak Moscow, who play on Wednesday.
Aspire started the match on a positive note going close on seven minutes when Fahad Al Abdullah’s shot went narrowly wide.
In the other quarterfinal, Rangers FC thrashed Etoile Sportive du Sahel 7-0 to join the hosts in the last four, with Young-Coombes and McKee scored hat-tricks with Lyall also getting on the scoresheet.
