'My team is not as perfect as I would have liked it to be'

Doha: Al Sadd take on QNB Stars League leaders and reigning champions Al Duhail SC in a high-voltage clash on Friday and Wolves’ coach Jesualdo Ferreira says he is not satisfied with his team’s performances so far as injuries to key players have interrupted them from producing their free-flowing football.

“My team is not as perfect as I would have liked it to be, as some key players will miss the game because of injury,” said Ferreira.

Sadd will miss their defensive rock Pedro and young forward Salem Al Hajri, while midfielder Boualem Khoukhi is also a doubt, but Ferreira said his men would be up for the challenge.

"It will be a very important game. These two teams have the makings of champions. Winning will give us the lead and the players do not need any special motivation,” said Ferreira, who added that the team that makes the least mistakes will win it.

“The winner of tomorrow's game will be the one who makes the least mistakes, the team that plays with the same intensity from the first minute to the last.”

Meanwhile, his opposite number Djamel Belmadi said it was just another important match.

“This match is important, but not that decisive. There’re still games left in the first phase and many more matches to come in the second phase,” said Duhail coach Belmadi.

“We don’t have to prove anything in the match against Al Sadd and I don’t want to give it any undue importance. I’m preparing my players in the best possible way,” said Belmadi.

“Our goal is to collect three points like we wish from all the games. We need to stay focused to maintain our lead. Those who come out on top will get three points and that’s very important.”

Duhail lead the table with 22 points, while Sadd and Al Rayyan are on 21.
