THE Qatar Swimming Association (QSA), in collaboration with Dhakira Youth Club, organised the Fourth Qatar Open Water Championships last week.
The 3km event featured 190 swimmers belonging to different nationalities.
The notable competitors included Hungarian Ambassador to Qatar Fodor Barnabas, who came fifth in the 36-40 age group and 31st in overall ranking.
The men competed in eight different age groups while women contested in five, with 18-25 being the youngest category.
QSA President Khalil Al Jabir, General Secretary Talal Al Darwish, Board member Khalid Abdullah and other officials attended the event.
Nasser Yasser Hamdy won the men’s 18-25 category by clocking 13:53.25 while Gebrielle Eseo finished in 17:23.82 to claim the honour among women.
