Police have it easy against Al Ahli

POLICE beat Al Ahli 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 in a lopsided Qatar League encounter at the Al Arabi Sports Club last week.

Ahli had given champions Al Arabi a scare in the last match, stretching them to five sets, but they were completely outplayed this time.

Police, under new Argentinian coach Damian Arredondo, have looked formidable right from the start of the league.

Outside hitter Mads Ditlevsen, a member of Denmark’s 2012 Olympic and 2014 European Championship campaigns, has made a quick impact on the team.

Police have won eight of the nine matches with their only reversal coming against Al Rayyan.

The Cops will next play Arabi on Wednesday.

Arabi, the only unbeaten side, extended their winning streak to eight matches following their 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-20 victory against El Jaish.

Meanwhile, former champions Rayyan had it easy against Al Shamal (25-14, 29-27, 25-19) while Al Sadd earned a hard-fought 21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-13 win against Qatar Sports Club.
