Doha: Qatar SC defeated Al Sadd 2-0 in the QSL Cup quarterfinal to set up a semifinal clash with Al Duhail, who overcame Al Khor 5-1 here at the Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday.
The other semis lineup will feature Al Kharaitiyat and Al Gharafa.
Ali Said Al Mohannadi fired a goal once in each half to help Qatar pick up an important victory against Sadd.
Ali Said, who found the net in the sixth and 58th minutes, proved to be a thorn in Al Sadd’s backline for most part of the match.
In the other semis, Fahad Al Bayati earned the lead in the sixth minute only to see it being cancelled by Khor's Said Brahmi in the 23rd minute.
But the QSL champions played with a lot of vigour in the second and shot into lead when substitute Nasser Al Yazidi found the back of the net in the 56th. He increased the lead with a close-range flick five minutes later.
Duhail didn't brook challenge and added their fourth through their Moroccan international Yousef El Arabi in the 72nd while Al Yazidi completed his hat-trick in th injury time.
