Doha: The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will be one of the Qatar Cyclists partners for the 2017 and 2018 Ride of Champions.
“We thank QTA for their support. We will now able to invest in marketing and positioning the event on the international stage to turn it not only in Qatar, but in the region as well,” said Qatar Cyclists President Dr Abdulaziz Al Kuwari. “We will be able to develop captivating audio and visual content to position and market the event internationally in future years.”
The Ride of Champions, which will be held on November 24, includes three events for experienced adult cyclists (48km, 78km and
137.5km) which will all start at 6.30am.
The early morning events will depart from Qatar Foundation to Al Shahaniya and take the same return route. The second one starts at 9am for families, beginners and new riders. They will cycle a 5.8km loop, totally closed to traffic, in the area around Qatar Foundation and Al Shaqab. Riders can complete as many loops as they like until 11am.
“Sport has unique power in bringing people from around the world together. Our support for the tournament come as part of our commitment to nurture Qatari-owned and operated events that are aligned with our sports tourism strategy for attracting more sports visitors to the country,” said Executive Director QTA Marketing & Promotion Rashed Al Qurese.
