Doha, Qatar: Qatar national beach soccer team left for Thailand to take part in the 2019 AFC Beach Soccer Championship to be held in Pattaya from March 7 to 17.
Qatar are in Group C of the championship, alongside Japan, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Asian Cup football champions Qatar will open their campaign Bahrain on March 8. They will take on Japan on March 10 and Kuwait two days later.
A total of 16 teams are placed in four groups with the top two sides from each pool progressing to the quarterfinals.
The championship also acts as the qualification tournament for Asian teams to the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay, with the top three teams getting a berth in the mega event in South American.
