QATAR won 57 medals — 32 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze — to claim overall title at the 13th GCC Championships (25M), which concluded at the Hamad Aquatic Centre last week. The UAE took second place while Oman and Bahrain finished third and fourth respectively.
On the final day, the host swimmers scooped up a whopping 23 medals, including 14 gold, five silver and four bronze.
“The excellent performances by our young athletes showed that the development work is on the right track. We’re happy with this result and it’ll motivate them to do well in future competitions,” said Qatar Swimming Association President Khalil Al Jaber.
