QATAR finished third in the preliminary round of FIVB World League, which concluded in Barcelona, Spain, last week.
Qatar opened their campaign with a straight-set victory against Greece. They then suffered reversals against Spain and Mexico.
Spain topped the group with an all-win record followed by Mexico while Greece brought up the rear.
Qatar will next take on Estonia, Venezuela and Greece in the second round of FIVB World League, to be held at the Estonian city of Tallinn from Thursday.
The cumulative points from two rounds will be taken into consideration for progression to the main draw.
“We knew we would’ve to play extraordinarily well to beat strong teams. We did our best and gave them hard times. We could’ve done a little better, but I think that our goal was to show the level of the game. We’re further developing the game in Qatar and I think we’ve proved that,” said senior player Renan Ribeiro.
