Seven Qataris in OCA’s standing committees

Doha, Qatar: The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced the names of presidents and members of its standing committees for the term from 2019 to 2023.

Seven Qatari nominees — Ishaq Al-Hashemi in Sports Committee, Alanoud Saaed Al-Mesnad in Women and Sports Committee, Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah in Athletes Committee, Hamad Yousif Al Obaidli in Media Committee, Saif Mohammed Al Naemi in Education Committee, Rashid Saed Adiba in Sport For All Committee and Abdul Wahab Al Musleh in Medical Committee — were selected as members in the OCA standing committees.

The OCA consists of 18 standing committees — Advisory Committee, Athletes Committee, Culture Committee, Coordination Committee,  Education Committee, Ethics Committee, Entourage Committee, Finance Committee, Information and Statistics Committee, International Relations Committee, Media Committee, Medical Committee, Peace Through Sport Committee,  Rules Committee, Sports Committee,  Sports For All Committee, Sports And Environment Committee and  Women And Sports Committee

These posts come as a new credit for the sport posts assumed by Qatari officials at the continental and international level, that is in line with QOC's vision to benefit from young and qualified-Qatari officials in different sports organizations.

The QOC aims to promote integrated sport system consists of highly qualified and professional Qatari cadres as per the QOC's strategy to take care and develop the Olympic movement in the country.

The Qatari candidates honorably received the confidence of Olympic Council of Asia as per the required terms and qualifications. Qatar has a wealth of national sports leaders and cadres in all fields that helped the country hosting sports events and championships over the past decades and organized many programs and initiatives in all fields.

HE Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman al-Kuwari, the Second Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), was elected Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for west Asian for a term from 2019 to 2023 during the OCA 38th General Assembly meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand in March 2019 under the chairmanship of the OCA President HE Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.
