Lausanne, Switzerland: Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the inauguration of the new headquarters (Olympic House) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Sunday.
President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset, a number of IOC's members, presidents of international federations, heads of national committees and dignitaries of the Olympic Movement also attended the inauguration ceremony.
The opening of the new headquarters coincides with the 125th anniversary of IOC, which falls on June 23.
The IOC's new headquarters glass facade represents IOC's future message of transparency, flexibility, and sustainability.
Also, QOC signed an agreement with the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) to host ANOC World Beach Games 2019 and ANOC General Assembly 2019 in October in Doha.
Sheikh Joaan and ANOC Senior Vice-President Robin Mitchel signed the agreement and the ceremony was also attended by QOC Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al Buenain and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg.
