THE Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) and Al Rayyan club will jointly organise a testimonial match for former Qatar international Yasseen Moussa in October.
The 35-year-old forward had retired from the national team in 2013 after the FIBA Asia Championship in Manila, the Philippines. However, he had been active in club basketball and 3×3 version.
“We’re going to host an international match in October in honour of his long career. His farewell should be a memorable one and we plan to invite either the Philippines national team or a top club from that country,” said QBF President Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The QBF also signed an agreement with GulfCrafts General Manager Vicken Deyirmenjian for proper branding of the proposed event, to be held at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena.
“We’ve signed a partnership with GulfCrafts. They’ll do the event branding. I hope such a gesture will encourage other companies to honour Yasseen for his achievements,” added Sheikh Saoud.
Meanwhile, as a token of appreciation for his vast experience, Yasseen was appointed as the QBF’s technical advisor last week.
The QBF chief hoped the federation would be benefited from his vast experience.
