Vahedi, Jans and Lilly are world snooker champions



DOHA: Iran’s Soheil Vahedi and Belgium’s Wendy Jans emerged as men’s and women’s champion respectively at the World Snooker Championships while India's Dharminder Lilly won the Masters title.

In the best-of-15-frames final at the Al Sadd Sports Club on Tuesday, Vahedi beat Welshman Andrew Pagett 8-1.

Earlier, Jans clinched her fifth consecutive world title after routing India’s Amee Kamani 5-0 in the best-of-nine women’s final.

Meanwhile, India’s Dharminder Lilly won the Masters title, beating Wales’ Elfed Evans 6-2 in best-of-11-frames final.
