Doha: Qatar will play an attacking game and will go all out for a victory against Bahrain in their final Group match in the Arabian Gulf Cup in Kuwait City, said coach Felix Sanchez on Thursday.
“I am 100 per cent sure we will play an aggressive game tomorrow and get the result we are looking for. We have to go for the win,” Sanchez said at the pre-match press conference. The team is motivated to face Bahrain in the final game of the preliminary stage.”
Qatar started their campaign with a 4-0 thumping victory against Yemen but the defeat at the hands of Iraq despite taking the lead has put them in a must-win situation against Bahrain.
Sanchez, however, said there were plenty of positives from the match against Iraq.
“The team showed great personality in the match against Iraq. They (the players) tried to perform to the best of their ability. We could not win but I know they tried hard. They gave their best on the pitch. The team is fit and hopefully, we will do better against Bahrain.
“It is a short tournament. so many matches are played within a short period of time. The only thing we can do is recover as fast as possible after every game. Physically we still have one more day to rest and recover before we take on Bahrain,” Sanchez said.
